At the heart of our curriculum are our core values, CHEERS.  Our curriculum is relevant and ambitious in every subject. With each subject, we ask ourselves ‘What is the underlying knowledge which pupils need in order to access the subject in later years?’ and then build a sequential curriculum which enables knowledge to build on knowledge and skills to build on skills.

We then teach in a way so that the children are able to retain the important components of knowledge in their long term memory and then retrieve it at a later point and build on it. We believe every subject has unique skills and content and we are intent on engaging children to learn from the Greats who have come before them, from all cultures and background. We go beyond the expected – learning from the Greats in Art and music, being inspired by the best we have seen, building knowledge cumulatively as we go, engendering appreciation of human creativity and achievement.
