School Dinners
Our delicious school dinners are cooked for us each day in our kitchens by our own LAP catering team, using produce from local suppliers.
Meals are ordered by parents in advance on the MCAS system. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 do not need to pay for their meal as it is provided free of charge under the government Universal Free School Meal scheme.
There is an option for a main hot meal which is usually a meat-based option and a vegetarian option. Pupils also have the opportunity to choose a Jacket Potato. There is a three-week rotation with the meals and the menus can be viewed on the website, or are available to view when a parent logs in to the MCAS system to order.
Year 3 to 6 need to pay for their meals and this costs £2.75 a day. Meals are paid for on MCAS.

All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 automatically get free school meals. From Year 3 onwards, children whose parents are in receipt of any of the benefits below are entitled to free school meals.
All parents and guardians are encouraged to apply for free school meals when they enrol their child in school as this can help their child’s school to attract additional ‘pupil premium’ funding to support learning. Please ensure that you register as this attracts additional money to our school which can have a great impact on the children’s learning. You may also qualify for help with costs towards school trips etc. If you do not register, we do not get the extra funding in school.
If you receive any of the following benefits, please register and apply via the https://oneonline.devon.gov.uk/CCSCitizenPortal_LIVE/en website which will result in a quicker decision. If your application is successful, please bring proof to the school office such as a screenshot or print out of the result. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
Our Healthy Snack Policy
Please note we are a nut free school. This included nuts in chocolate spread, chocolate bars etc. Please click below for our recommended snacks.
School milk is available for ALL children
If your child is currently under 5, once you have registered with Cool Milk, the UK’s leading school milk supplier, they will receive free milk at school, funded by the UK Government’s Nursery Milk Scheme.
When your child turns 5 or if they are already over 5, you have the option to pay for their milk. We have made arrangements with Cool Milk to supply milk at a small subsidised daily cost.
What you need to do:
Visit www.coolmilk.com as soon as possible and select “Register your child for milk”, then follow the on-screen instructions to register and pay.
OR
Ask the school office for a registration form – send your completed form to Cool Milk, and they will send you a payment request.
A portion of fresh, chilled milk at mid-morning break provides protein, calcium and other vital nutrients, important for your child’s growth and development. It’s also a great way to bridge the gap between breakfast and lunch, re-hydrating your child and helping them to concentrate in class.
