On Friday 7th June, our school Senior Choir, Musical Theatre Group and Singing Ensemble took to the stage at the annual Contemporary Craft Festival in Mill Marsh Park. They performed in the sunshine to a large enthusiastic crowd for over 40 minutes, singing a variety of songs they’ve learnt this year, including Safe, Fought and Lost (featuring Alfie C on guitar) and a selection of numbers from the upcoming ABBA show.
Members of the school Senior Choir once again collaborated with Moretonhampstead’s school choir in a performance at this year’s Mini Moreton Music Day. The annual day-long festival for young musicians took place at the Horse pub on Sunday 5th May. The children sang to a very appreciative audience in the back barn. They performed a selection of songs, each choir individually at first and then together in a combined chorus.
On Tuesday 30th April, Phase 2 children and some members of Phase 3 travelled to Plymouth’s Theatre Royal to be treated to a special concert performed by the orchestra and soloists of the Welsh National Opera. This special schools concert featured performances of opera and film favourites and concluded with a spectacular performance of the Harry Potter film theme! This was a wonderful (and for many a new) experience and it’s fair to say that the children came away buzzing!
